Wagmo offers wellness plans in all 50 states that you can pair with pet insurance or purchase individually. It provides a fast and easy claim process and reimbursement rates up to 100% on its insurance policies. Plus, you can earn a discount if you choose to cover multiple pets.
On the downside, Wagmo limits lifetime payouts to $100,000 per pet and doesn’t offer unlimited annual coverage plans.
Wagmo offers a wide range of pet wellness plans that include coverage for preventative care, medication, and routine testing. Coverage for its pet wellness plans vary depending on the plan you choose. Wellness plan benefits may include a combination of the following:
Along with wellness plans, Wagmo provides comprehensive pet insurance policies. Its policies cover your pet against accidents, illness, or injury. Covered treatments include:
Since Wagmo insurance and wellness plans work on a reimbursement basis, you can visit any certified veterinarian you want. Whether you visit your favorite vet or a new clinic while traveling with your pet out of state, Wagmo has you covered.
Your Wagmo pet insurance policy excludes specific treatments and conditions from coverage. It doesn’t cover pre-existing conditions, hip dysplasia for pets over 6, or pets younger than 8 weeks or older than 16 years old. Other exclusions include:
With Wagmo, you can choose between 3 different wellness plans. The Value plan costs $20 per month, the Classic plan costs $39 per month, and the Deluxe plan costs $59 per month. The cost for Wagmo pet insurance varies depending on your location as well as your pet’s age, sex, and breed. In Houston, Texas, a single policy for a 5-year-old male Labrador Retriever with a 90% reimbursement rate and $1,000 deductible costs $42.93 per month. The same policy with a 100% reimbursement rate and $250 deductible costs $84.67 per month.
You can unlock a 10% discount if you choose to insure more than one pet. Be advised that insurance quotes are subject to change.
Your reimbursement rate determines the percentage at which Wagmo will reimburse your pet insurance claims. If you want a lower monthly premium, you may want to opt for the 90% reimbursement rate. If you want to avoid paying more for treatments, Wagmo also offers a 100% reimbursement rate for a higher monthly premium.
Your deductible represents the amount you are responsible for paying each year before you are eligible to receive reimbursement for a claim. Wagmo features three deductible options: $250, $500, and $1,000. Just remember, the lower the deductible, the higher your monthly premium.
Unlike some pet insurance providers, Wagmo limits your lifetime insurance payout amount to $100,000 per pet. It also doesn’t offer plans with unlimited annual coverage. That said, Wagmo’s $20,000 annual coverage amount is still relatively high compared to some other pet insurance providers.
A waiting period is an amount of time that you must wait before you can submit a claim on your Wagmo pet insurance policy. Waiting periods vary depending on your state and expense type. For most states, the waiting period is 15 days for accident- and illness-related claims. Meanwhile, cancer treatments have a waiting period of 30 days.
Note that waiting periods only apply to Wagmo pet insurance policies. Its wellness policies have no waiting period, meaning your coverage begins immediately.
To file a claim for reimbursement, simply log in to your Wagmo account online or through the Wagmo mobile app. Submit a photo of your vet bill, and Wagmo’s claims processing team will handle the rest. You can choose to receive payment via PayPal, Venmo, or bank transfer. On average, wellness plan reimbursements take 24 hours, while it can take up to 2 weeks to receive reimbursement for pet insurance claims.
You can contact Wagmo’s customer service team via phone, chat, or email. Chat support is available from 9am-6pm EST, Monday-Friday, and from 11am-7pm EST on Saturday. Meanwhile, phone support is available from 10am-5pm EST, Monday-Friday. If you sign up for the Classic or Deluxe wellness plan, you also get 24/7 chat access to vet experts through VETalk.
Wagmo’s website and mobile app are easy to use. You can request a custom quote in just a few minutes after you provide your contact information and details about your pet's age and breed. From there, it’s simple to mix and match plans and rates to find the right coverage for you and your pet.
One of the best aspects of Wagmo is its wide variety of wellness plans. Unlike some pet insurance companies, Wagmo allows you to purchase its wellness plans separately from comprehensive insurance. Additionally, it offers 100% reimbursement rates and low deductibles on its insurance policies, which can help save you money on veterinary care.
Although its wellness plans are available nationwide, Wagmo’s pet insurance policies aren’t available in all 50 states. It doesn’t cover hip dysplasia treatments for pets over 6 years old and excludes pets under 8 weeks and over 16 years old from insurance coverage. Lastly, it limits annual payouts to $20,000 and lifetime payouts to $100,000, which means you can end up on the hook for vet bills even after you meet your annual deductible.
